Comments are reproduced word-for-word anonymously either from the paper guestbook in the apartment, subsequent emails or posted reviews on websites. These reviews typically lag behind a bit as I catch up with them whenever we are in Barbados and I can see the book. Other reviews can be seen on airbnb and TripAdvisor. Incredible beach, perfect apartment for us. Images are exactly how the apartment is. Very well stocked kitchen and laundry. My wife and I, my mum, and two infants under two fit comfortably. Tim was a great host and there were people to help out if things were needed. Would love to come back.

Tim’s apartment is great to stay in very spacious, fabulous view, has everything you need and right on the beach. The staff in the complex are very helpful and make sure you have a super time there. It was our second visit to this apartment and will definitely book again. Thanks again for a wonderful trip.

This place was astounding. Pictures do not do it justice. Much more luxurious than expected. Bedrooms and bathrooms very large, spacious and elegant. Everything is immaculate. Such beautiful works of local art as well. We spent the most time on the patio, sipping tea in the lounge area, had breakfasts on the dining table there and drank wine while in the jacuzzi, all while looking out at the pristine ocean. I could hear the waves crashing at night from master, was so serene. Bifold sliding doors from living room and master onto patio, could open them all the way for true indoor outdoor living. And when it was too hot closed it and used the air conditioning for a refresher. Villa is on one of the best beaches on the island. Beach chairs and umbrellas available for use. Cleaner, security staff and grounds staff all very pleasant and super helpful. Would stay here again in a heart beat!!!

Life really is a Beach at Coral Cove 8. From initial contact with Tim to the end of our stay. Tim and the staff who manage the property attended to every need in a fast and friendly way. It’s rare to find places that are even better than described, but this is one of them. From the beautiful artwork around the property, to the well-appointed kitchen, this is a true home from home. Also, the views of the sun setting from the balcony in the evenings are stunning. Do check out Tim’s guidebook on what to do and where to eat and drink, its very useful with great suggestions that never failed. If you are looking for a relaxing and unforgettable time in Barbados, look no further. Thank you, Tim and staff, for a wonderful time. The condo is BEAUTIFUL!! We loved being able to sit in the patio to eat dinner, play cards or just relax. We were in walking distance to shops & restaurants. The staff Romeo {the guards}, Santorini {housekeeper} were pleasant, answered all questions, made suggestions. This home and the staff are worth the price. Until I purchase my own home in Barbados this will be my home!! Thanks Tim for having a beautiful place.

We have had to wait 3 years before we could return to Barbados again, and Tim’s apartment and Paynes beach more than made up for our long-delayed holiday. On our previous trips to Barbados we would normally like to try different beaches each day, but it became clear quite early into our holiday that nothing was going to better leaving the apartment and beach, such was the wonderful apartment and the beauty of the beach directly under our balcony. Tim is a great host, he made our booking easy, and the local staff looked after all our transfers and left nothing to worry about. Hope to return again very soon.

Amazing villa on the sea. This was perfect for my family. Perfect location literally on the beach. The host and his concierge service were nothing but spectacular especially helping us navigate through Covid testing etc. truly paradise on the sea.

We had the most delightful weekend in this beautiful home for a last minute staycation on the most stunning beach in Barbados. It is perfectly appointed and we all marvelled at the wonderful local art and decor - down to the locally madeEarthworks ceramic dishwater in the kitchen. The security staff were polite and helpful and also much appreciation to Deborah from Young Estates for being so attentive. We hope to come again!

What a beautiful island and condo - we really enjoyed our stay despite the Covid challenges - we only had to quarantine for less than 24 hours. The weather was perfect and the water was awesome - some places still closed due to Covid, but the stores and restaurants that were open were very welcoming. The entire staff at Coral Cove were wonderful. My family and I would come back in a heartbeat.

Tim’s apt is wonderfully appointed and has everything you need for a relaxing stay on the west coast. Tim and the property manager were responsive and attentive to questions we had and the whole stay was a breeze. Overall, the place is great. My wife and I spent a week here. The location is awesome, on Payne's Beach. The beach and chairs are a short walk downstairs and the warm water awaits. The best portion of the day is the sunset, looking west, which were all awesome for our entire trip! There is a beach bar and grill just down the way and a lot of great restaurants (listed by the host). The agent met us to let us in and communication was awesome. The agent had pre-stocked the frig (to our order) and then went and got coffee, which we forgot to order. She was awesome! The features of the apartments are great. The master bedroom was very comfortable and the pillows were awesome. The master bath is awesome, as well. The shower used water that did not get super hot, but was was plentiful. The double-sink was well laid out. The entry to the deck from the master bedroom was great as well. The kitchen was well stocked, and the housekeeper was very nice and effective. The den was well laid out and very comfortable. The deck door from the den were the same as the master bedroom doors. The doors slide open and created a double-opening. With the windows open in the front (near the door), there was a great breeze. We often kept the air conditioning off and just kept the doors opened for the great breeze. We did not use the second or third bedroom, but they looked just as comfortable. One thing to note was that the Payne's beach area can get very busy. For a couple of days, the crowds came in with the cruise ships and the beach was pretty busy. We did not mind, but it depends on what you are looking for. The host had plenty of beach and shower towels available and gear for snorkeling. I would highly recommend the place and would enjoy staying again.

Thankful for having us to stay in this beautiful apartment - we’ve loved every minute, from breakfast on the balcony to sunsets in the hot tub. Beach days have been great and we’ve particularly enjoyed fish sandwiches from the bar and grill for lunch. We’re so grateful for such an amazing holiday, we’ll never forget it.

I thought I knew the meaning of vacation, but now I know . Well stock accommodation inclusive of kitchen utensils. The very helpful staff ensure the comfort was the order of the day and night. We’ve had a fun filled 2 weeks. A superb apartment with the most amazing views. We did a lot of our own cooking and found the kitchen very good indeed (oven gloves would be good though). Thoroughly enjoyed breakfasts looking out over the sea. We met many very friendly staff and people working on the beach. Albert and Romeo always smiling and the housekeeper was great - Sophia. We’re spending many days chatting to Grantley who runs the Gazebo beach bar over quite a few rum punches! Did a bit of paddle boarding (next to Gazebos). Scuba diving at High Tides was very good - based at Coral Reef hotel. Hired a car and drove all over the island. Certainly recommend: St Nicolas Abbey, - do the combo train and house; lunch there was lovely and pretty setting. George Washington House - V. Interesting and we went into the military tunnels. Have lunch or at least coffee there as it’s so pleasant and relaxing. Sunburn House in South of island was also a great place to visit. Harrison’s Cave a mus! Drove to Ragged Point for the views. Bridgetown Trafalgar Square was also worth a visit. Take a brolly if you want to keep in the shade. Recommend lunch at the Waterfront - nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Did a bit of duty free shopping in Cave Shepherd. Took photos of Kensington Oval Cricket Ground (husband insisted!). Visited the 1000 year old tree in Queen’s Park, Bridgetown. If you don’t hire a car go on the safari tours to get a feel of the island. We did the Adventure Tour and went off road - a real laugh! Lunch was really nice too included in the price and taken at Bathsheba beach. Ate out at Lone Star for our anniversary- excellent! As we left the staff showed us a sea turtle laying her eggs - really special!
We’ll miss the scenery, the friendly people and the wildlife! Would love to return.....

Bit disappointed could not use the jacuzzi as too much chlorine. No worries, the beach more than made up for it!! The children were very comfortable and loved the space to play. Everything was beautiful. Checkin was super. Family of 5 and concierge arranged a car to pick us up from airport and they were also great! We got bus on Friday night to Fish Fry right across from condos. Grocery is super close. Romeo was helpful in showing us where to go and always super friendly. Enjoyed the beach views and balcony so much. Highly recommend ;-)

The apartment is lovely, well furnished and equipped , and has beautiful paintings. Payne’s Bay is one of the best beaches in Barbados, and walking on the beach before breakfast is one of the highlights of the holiday. It was a fabulous week in paradise!!

What a beautiful island! We were here to celebrate mom’s 70th birthday and had a wonderful time. We went diving 2 days with high tide and saw some great wrecks. We also visited CocoHills, Flowertree, Roundhouse (fantastic but make a reservation), Animal Flower Caves, Eartworks, Mt Gay Visitor Center and did a catamaran. It was a jam packed fun week. Our favorite was the catamaran trip on Imagine - great crew, good food and beautiful views. We ate at Mr Vics - great service, good food, fun music on Weds. scarlets was also good. Zaccio’s had great service and was highly entertaining. Daphne’s was good food but slow service. The “tent” was also very good. Love, love loved this apartment! The views were spectacular and the vibe is chill. We’ll def be back!

This was our first time in Barbados and wish we could have stayed longer at the apartment. From the initial contact with Tim and the ease of booking directly with him, Young Estates who met us on arrival and the most pleasant and helpful housekeeper, it was all fabulous. You really couldn’t ask for a better location on the beach, with sun beds provided to enjoy a lazy day in the sun. The apartment itself is immaculately presented and catered for all our needs. (From teenagers to 73 year old granny). The balcony must provide some of the best views on the island. Our only regret is that we couldn’t have stayed longer. However, we will definitely be returning to Barbados and this apartment will be our first choice.

Found this wonderful slice of heaven after many hours of online research. Life's A Beach was a perfect way to celebrate my birthday with daughter and husband.
We spent time doing everything we could cram into one week but still have time to relax. The Abbey was fun, Harrison's Cave was a quick trip and we loved the pottery place and art shop.
Every meal was good no matter the cost - some of my favourites were the least expensive places in Speightstown along the beach.
We are scuba divers and found a great team called "Eco Divers" on Wharf Rd in Bridgetown.
Our first visit to Barbados was excellent. We especially enjoy the kindness of all the locals - even while driving!

"Life is a Beach" had everything we needed and more. Everyone in our group had already been to Barbados before and we all agree this apartment and beach is one we will see again! Lonestar for brunch on Sunday is a must! We went out on a private catamaran tour - Seduced - staff is amazing. Other restaurants The Cliff, Vic's across the street, Ragamuffins for the Sunday show, Spago for pizza, and Fusion in Holetown.
We will all miss this Balcony and sound of the waves crashing into the shore. Cheers!

This was our first trip to Barbados and we had a fantastic time! Lovely apartment, gorgeous beach and friendly island! We took trips to St Nicholas Abbey, Welchmans Hall Gully, Huntes Gardens and many a stop in Holetown...loved it all. Thank you for letting us stay at "Life's A Beach". The villa is exactly like the pictures. Great location and perfect accommodations. The beach is beautiful and very peaceful. I would definitely stay at this villa again as the host is great and the concierge that manages the villa is wonderful.

This is a stylish apartment in a wonderful beach location (middle of Payne’s Bay and short walk from Sandy Lane beach). The pictures are all accurate and it does indeed have a large and glorious sea view. The beach is right outside with direct access and there is no problem getting beach chairs as set out by the complex. There is one beach bar on the beach itself next door but it is a nice rustic one and met our food/drink needs. From the accommodation we walked one evening to The Cliff and one evening to Daphne’s for dinner. Neither are far. We travelled with three kids, the two of us and a guest. There was ample space with two younger kids sharing. The staff are all great - very friendly. One evening we hired a babysitter (for The Cliff) and that was smoothly arranged by the staff. Lastly, we had a hire car and there is parking. It is a bit tight but perhaps to be expected on a beach front apartment. Highly recommended.

2 of us rented the apartment for 1 week, the process through tripadvisor, with the owner and rental company was easy and faultless. Having stayed on the West Coast in several hotels we were wary of an apt but will only do it this way going forwards. The apartment has 3 lovely bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and an amazing lounge/kitchen which opens onto a great terrace with sofas, dinning table and to top it off a hot tub! There is a covered parking space, security and the housekeeper were nothing but helpful and considerate, pointing us in the right direction when needed! I’ve arrived home with all clean clothes, due to the housekeepers help!!! Location is great, being able to walk along the beach all the way to Sandy Lane and then the other way to the Cliff! Great restaurants in local proximity and everything you could need, including connies bbq across the road on Thurs, Fri and sat! What a fantastic holiday in a luxury apartment, better than any hotel! Thank you Tim!

The apartment is on an amazing beach, wonderful staff including security and Cinterina who keep the house in such good order!

Thank-you Tim for letting us stay in your beautiful apartment. We had a wonderful holiday in Paynes Bay. The beach was perfect and after an initial stormy weekend, the sun came out for the rest of the week. The staff - Romeo, Albert and Cinterina made us very welcome and nothing was too much of an issue. The highlight was swimming with turtles and we had a special Halloween at sunset on the beach. The flower cave was amazing. Hopefully, we will be back next year.

This place had beautiful views, very friendly staff, and was a perfect location to stay in Barbados! Short walk to many great local restaurants. The Cliff is a must , at least for drinks! If you want a great tour, reasonably priced call "Skinny Carson". Had a wonderful family vacation here! Fishing - swimming (with the turtles) was awesome.

This was our sixth time to visit the island but our first time as a family! The food, weather, people and accommodation were all excellent! We had the opportunity to explore sites like Harrison's Cave, Hunte's Gardens, Nicholas Abbey and the Atlantis Hotel. All were fantastic sites to visit and would highly recommend them to other guests. We also had an opportunity to purchase a piece of local art from"John Mark" on the beach. We now have a collection of 5 of his pieces.
Thanks for allowing us the opportunity to stay in your villa during our holiday. We love Coral Cove!

Another wonderful stay at number 8. 7 weeks in all. Special thanks to Romeo and Cinterina. The gym at Holders Hill is a firm favourite. This time we discovered 'Hunte's Gardens' - amazing, not to be missed. 'Fusion' is an exciting new restaurant on the top floor of Lime Grove. Richard to make coffee at the Lime Bar.

Brought our daughter and three grandchildren to experience B'dos where my husband grew up. This is probably the best place we have rented on the island.
Atlantis submarine was a big hit as was the island safari.
Our favourite restaurant ended up being Cafe Caryzma in the Chattel village - we have a picky eater and they were lovely and accommodating. Pizza at Zaccio's was also good.
All in all a great trip!

This is definitely paradise!
We are leaving todayand we're very sorry that its over. Everything was perfect to the small details - we had Simone who cooked for us and her Bajan fish was superb and delicious!

We came to celebrate a 10th wedding anniversaryand a 40th birthday with 3 generations of family. Very friendly people with excellent service from both Cinterina and security staff. They have made our holiday so much easier. We've been coming to Barbados for 5 years. This time we've had the best stay because of 'Life's a Beach', a beautifully situated and comfortable apartment. Aesthetically most attractive too. Can highly recommend the gym on Holders Hill, golf at Apes Hill and the Cheapside markets on a Saturday morning. Many thanks.

We have all had the most wonderful 14 days in Barbados, made extra special by the spectacular 'Life's a Beach' at Coral Cove. The nights out were great - Lone star, tides (twice) and The Cliff - food simply amazing - but nights in were nice too! Very relaxing. Had two trips on 'Cool Runnings' - well worth the 90 USD per head - a lot of fun and the crew were great. A wonderful 10 days in a terrific villa. Coral Cove is a terrific place to stay. Lovely beach and views and the villa has everything you could need. We were very impressed and plan on returning (next time with our two sons). Weather was great - were very fortunate. Diving was amazing. And just snorkelling on the beach you can see turtles and rays. Thank you.

We feel very fortunate indeed to have been able to stay in your wonderful apartment. It is just perfect and the only decision we now have to make is when the next booking should be! End of season and weather a little mixed and some restaurants taking a break but we have had a fabulous week celebrating our daughters birthday and the other success on exams. We must mention the crew of 'Cool Runnings', just so good. Our eldest daughter is disabled and they could not have been more kid, fun and generous with their time. Thank you!

Thank you so much for the rental of your beautiful condo. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time here in Barbados and have been very well accommodated by the wonderful staff. Despite a poor forecast, he had super weather, enjoying time on the beach, water sports and a fantastic catamaran cruise with 'Miami' where we got to swim with the turtles. All the restaurants we tried in the area were on an exceptionally high standard. Rihanna even brought a little bit of sparkle to the beach on Sunday. Hope some day to return.

We have found tranquility! A marvellous location to enjoy relaxation and the island hospitality. This is our 11th time to the island and by far the best. The two birds (Churpy + Cheep Cheep) are trained temporary to sit on the balcony rail and no further! (some luck!) The apartment is just great particularly the pictures and many thanks for the use - oh it's so good.

Thank you for making our memorial day the best one yet. We express a great deal of gratitude for opening up your home to us. We took a catamaran by "Cool Runnings" the crew was awesome and the buffet was also really great! Also we had the opportunity to have a romantic dinner where chef Dale prepared gourmet meals. This trip was short but sweet, everything was perfect. God bless, hope to be back soon.

The most divine first trip to Barbados. The condo and beach were perfect for our 4 year old twins - and us! We loved having the Bajan cook for half the nights we were here. On the other nights, we enjoyed dinner out at the Cliff and Daphne's. We really loved Daphne's - the food and the staff. The staff at Coral Cove were amazing and we are so thankful for the hospitality they showed us. For sightseeing, we loved St Nicholas Abbey, Farley Hill, Cherry Tree Hill and Bathsheba. We also enjoyed the tour of the Mount Gay bottling plant. We will never forget swimming with the turtles - what an experience! Thank you for letting us enjoy your beautiful condo - we will be back!

First trip to Barbados, definitely not the last. Fantastic apartment with stunning views, highlight was the hot tub and wine. I would recommend the trip to St Nicholas Abbey to taste the rum and we had a fantastic adventure on board the Calabaza snorkelling with turtles and wild fish. We even managed a rum punch in the ocean :). For food we ate at Cafe Luna - excellent, Just Grillin' with the locals, Cin Cin by the Sea which was a special occasion - fish cakes to die for! (We even saw a turtle swim to shore). However, our favourite was the Fish Pot (part of little good Harbour) - stunning location and food even better. We look forward to returning very soon. All staff were fantastic throughout. Thank you.

Fantastic apartment and a great find on our first visit to Barbados. The view is wonderful and swimming in the lovely warm sea was a treat. The kids had a brilliant time and loved the water sports. Lots of nice restaurants within easy reach. We liked the Beach Club at Holetown but also tried Cin Cin, Daphnes and Lone Star. Harrisons Cove is also worth a visit. Would love to return one day. We've had a lovely relaxing holiday on our first visit to Barbados. Beautiful apartment, beach lovely, great to be able to just open the gate and be in the sea. Everyone lovely and helpful. Deborah was brilliant arranging and transporting us to the dentist when emergency treatment was required. Oistins fish fry was good. We had a chef 3 nights, food amazing and great to enjoy eating it with family listening to the sea and birds. Definitely worth a second visit to Coral Cove. Thank you.

We have just returned from a fantastic holiday staying at Coral Cove. The apartment was lovely and catered for all of our needs. Romeo, Cinterini and Deborah were all very helpful and nothing appeared to be too much trouble.
This was our first time to Barbados self catering as we have previously stayed in hotels, but we loved the freedom of being able to visit some of the local restaurants and would thoroughly recommend Sharkeys whose prices are very reasonable and the Mahi Mahi was fantastic. Would also recommend both Daphne's and The Tides restaurants.
We loved the Jacuzzi and spent many an evening in it taking in the lovely views from the balcony (with a glass or two of bubbly!!).
We would thoroughly recommend this and will certainly hope to return in the future.

Our family returned to Barbados after a long hiatus. We remembered the west coast as being our favorite part of the island, and memory served correctly. The apartment is located close to Holetown, which has a great selection of shops and restaurants. There were also several good restaurants and bars within walking distance on the beach. Bridgetown is also fairly close, but we never felt the urge to venture into the city. We are watersports enthusiasts, and everything from snorkeling to jet skiing is either right on the beach or a short walk away. One neat surprise was that the sea turtles congregate about 100 yards off the beach, so a short swim (or grab a paddleboard) puts you there. The apartment and property is as nice as presented on the site, and does not disappoint. One of the advantages here is that Sotheby's manages the property. Maid service was provided 3x a week and there is a concierge to help you find your way around the island. If you wish, the refrigerator can be stocked upon your arrival, arrangements can be made for a chef, you can be picked up at the airport, and your rental car can be brought to you. For us, this was an ideal mix of first rate service, if you wanted it, without the crowds of a comparable hotel. All in all a great setup. The host was responsive and easy to work with. We quickly felt at home and would definitely return. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time in your villa – well decorated, excellent staff (Romeo) was great and so was Cliff very helpful – we tour the whole island by vehicle with a guided tour (Jason’s tour – 246-840-8957 – they took us on a privately turtle trip, skiing, sunken ship tour etc); visited Bathsheba; had a wonderful dinner at: Sandy Lane be prepared to pay high for your meal, excellent service though – the Cliff was great to see the sting ray fish – something to see – Chin Chin restaurant reasonable and very good – St Lawrence Gap was great for a short visit at night – the weather was superb – water (Caribbean Sea) was so beautiful every day – this was our first time in Barbados and it won’t be our last – we also visited the two caves – my favourite being Harrison’s Cave, St Thomas.
Your villa was very comfortable. We did have trouble with the icemaker and hotub – a time or two couldn’t get it to come on – other than that it was clean, lovely and well set-up. Thank you and will be back.
Owners comment - great that you loved it and we would love to have you back. The ice man cometh and hopefully the ice maker is now fixed; the jacuzzi is now working fine - just spend half an hour in it with bubbles. cheers tim

Six of us stayed here - 2 parents and four children, and we had a wonderful time. Its a good place from which to explore Barbados, and to come back to at the end of the day, to relax in the 'jacuzzi' and enjoy the view of the sun setting over the bay. Clearly a good place to swim with turtles, and the sports on the beach are good. Romeo (lead caretaker) etc were more than helpful. We had bad luck in that there was a swell of five feet for three days, which made the sea less safe and the visibility in the water almost nil, so we slightly regretted the lack of a pool. But this happens rarely, we understand.

Your House Manager Deborah did a wonderful job in making us feel welcome and at home.
We'll certainly be making recommendations.If you're looking to get away from your hectic daily life then Life's a Beach - Coral Cove 8 is the perfect place to unwind and relax in luxury surroundings.
The beach front location is spectacular and also practical, as it's only a 5 minute drive to Holetown which has a wide selection of restaurants.
This was our first stay at Life's a Beach but we'll definitely being going back.

We had an incredible week in your lovely apartment! It will be difficult to leave. Staff were helpful, nice and friendly. We enjoyed the view from your amazing balcony and spent many evenings with a glass of wine in hand listening to the sea - so relaxing!
Fabulous restaurants close by ... Cliff, Cariba, Lone Star, Tides to name a few.
Beautiful beach ... enjoyed many long walks!

We found 'Life's A Beach' to be an outstanding apartment in an absolutely wonderful location. Only a few footsteps and you're lying on on one of the apartment's sun beds on arguably the best beach in Barbados. Fantastic. An added bonus was the proximity of some of the island's best restaurants with The Cliff and Daphnes within staggering distance and plenty of other eating places very close by. It was also very useful to be within a five minute drive of Holetown, with it's handy Supermarket. We can honestly say this is the best accommodation, in terms of both quality and location we have ever stayed in on the island. Couldn't wish for better.
